New test version of APPro firmware

We'd like to announce final stages of development of a new APPro firmware version for 2.4 GHz devices. We also made available the latest test version of this firmware, that contains number of substantial improvements.
 

• 
  New performance level of QoS and Traffic Manager. Currently bandwidth management features are capable of handling 45 Mbit/s of UDP traffic, and 39 Mbit/s of TCP traffic. Each of 32 users held in Traffic Manager table can have up to 30 Mbit/s of assigned bandwidth, and despite a heavy load, response times for short packets are kept at just few milliseconds. This kind of performance outclasses any other firmware in the category, and even beats products running on much more efficient hardware platforms.
   
• Easy management of multiple APPro devices. Despite the presence of a modern Web interface and a powerful shell-based management features, we added a new ability to reconfigure the devices via FTP protocol. By sending specially named files to the device, it is possible for example to reset the device or reload its configuration. Thanks to this feature, APPro-based networks can be managed by scripts running on a central server, or LMS system.
   
• Multiple IP addresses and routes. Advanced Linux features are now accessible via Web interface. They allow to create an extended network configurations, i.e. needed when improving link's fault tolerance.
   
• Firewall, p2p filtering, virus filtering, client protection. Easy to use features that improve network security and prevent abuses.
   
• New Web interface, graphical statistics, more diagnostic information. Browsing and analyzing statistics generated by APPro becomes easier and easier. In-house developed scripts for Web interface allows unconstrained editing of configuration and organizing displayed data (i.e. table sorting).

We encourage testing of the new firmware. More details can be found on our forum. Along the final version of the firmware, we will also present the new licensing terms.
